Surya Vihar Bhori gets flooded due to JMC negligence

JAMMU, Feb 23: The recent rains in Jammu have exposed the callous indifference of the Jammu Municipal Corporation with the low lying areas getting flooded making the movement of people difficult. The residents have been complaining that despite repeated representations to the JMC authorities no action was taken and the people faced problems because of rains.
The residents of the Surya Vihar Bhori told Excelsior that all the lanes leading to their houses were flooded. Residents of Lane 2, Surya Vihar said that although there were proper drains but the JMC sweepers never cleaned these. With the result the drains got blocked and streets flooded with the rains.
The residents urged the JMC authorities to take serious note of the situation. One of the residents said, “when just a few hours of showers flooded the lanes it could get worse in case the rains prolonged”. They hoped that the JMC officials will take note of the situation so that they do not have to face more problems and harassment.
