JAMMU, Feb 23: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Pardeep Gupta, who is also the Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, convened a meeting of the members of the board and officers of concerned department here today.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Reasi (Vice Chairperson Shiv Khori Shrine Board) Nirmal Sharma, Members of the Board Robin Singh Mehta, B.S. Slathia, Seema Khajuria Shekhar, M.L. Sharma and officers of various line departments.
Divisional Commissioner took a detailed review of the steps under taken by the concerned departments for improving the facilities being extended to the pilgrims enroute the shrine. Discussions were also held on early preparation and implementation of by-laws for regularization of employees, setting up of eating points, construction of toilet blocks and parallel track from Ransoo to Shiv Khori Shrine.
The board took a unanimous decision to hike the daily wages of its employees besides extending the insurance cover to all of them. Arrangements for ensuing festival of Maha Shivratri were also discussed in the meeting. Div Com stressed upon the concerned departments to make the necessary arrangements well in time.
District Development Commissioner Reasi gave a detailed resume of the various developmental activities and facilities being upgraded.
DDC also informed the meeting that the construction of Receiving Station Ransoo is under progress and the WSS for Shiv Khori is under trial.
The chair was also informed that various development works will be taken up by the Tourism Department under Katra-Shiv Khori Tourist Circuit including construction of tourist huts, view points, shelter sheds, public conveniences and parks.
