Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 25 cattle rescued

POONCH, May 18: District Police Poonch today foiled two bovine smuggling attempts on Mughal Road in Surankote area other in Mendhar area and rescued 25 animals and arrested the accused persons.
Reports said Police party led by SHO Surankote, laid naka on Mughal Road tonight and rescued 20 animals which were being illegally taken to valley and seized three vehicles and arrested the smugglers.
In this connection, case FIR No. 91/2019, 92/2019 and 94/2019  U/S 188 RPC and 3PCA Act were registered respectively and investigation was taken up.
Police party from Gursai while conducting traffic checking late this evening , intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK12A/ 6198 last night and arrested its driver after five bovine animals were found loaded in it without any valid permission. The arrested driver was identified as Mohd Imran, son of Wali Mohd, resident of Nadol, tehsil Mendhar. In this connection, a case FIR No 32/19 u/s 188RPC 3PCA Act was registered and investigation taken up by police.
