DODA, May 20: The workers of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act hailing from Tehsil Chilly Pingal area of Sub Division Gandoh held protest demanding release of their pending wages.
A large number of MGNREGA workers assembled here at district headquarters and raised slogans against the administration for not releasing their pending wagers.
While speaking, one of the protestor said that the district administration has failed to release their wages, which are pending since three years.
“We are facing manifold problems to feed our families”, they said, adding that the education of their wards have also affected due to non-release of pending wages.
They appealed to the district administration to release our pending wages in the ongoing month of Ramadan. They warned to block the road if their pending wages are not released in the shortest possible time.
Later, the protesting employees submitted a memorandum of demands to Deputy Commissioner Doda for consideration on priority basis.
