Hundreds of devotees throng Swami Mirzakak Asthapan

JAMMU, May 20: Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged Swami Mirzakak Asthapan at Nagrota Jammu to pay their obeisance to the mystic saint of medieval Kashmir on his 189th Nirwan Divas (Jag) today.
On the occasion a Maha Yagya was also solemnized by Swami Mirzakak Trust led by its president Bushan Lal Hangloo. The Maha Yagya started yesterday and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees.
A bhajan Kirtan and Samohik Pooja led by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi was also held at the Asthapan of Swami Ji by the devotees on the occasion.
The entire Asthapan was decorated with flowers and devotees offered the offerings on the Asthapan which is the replica of Swami Ji’s shrine at village Hangalgund in Kokernag tehsil of Anantnag district.
Religious discourses were also given by the scholars on the life and teachings of Swami Mirzakak commonly known as Kak Sahib who had prophesied the doom of tyrant Pathan rule in Kashmir.
The function in connection with the Swami Ji’s Jag was also performed at Swami Ji’s Samadhi at Hangalgund in KashmirValley where the devotees from Vessu migrant camp and other camps participated in the celebrations and performed pooja -archana in traditional way at Swami Ji’s Samadhi.
The function concluded late in the evening. It may be recalled that Swami Mirzakak Trust has constructed a replica of Swami Ji’s Samadhi at Nagrota soon after the mass migration of Kashmiri Pandits from Valley in 1989-90. Presently it has become a seat of spiritual activities as devotees perform Sadhna at the shrine daily.
