650 kgs poppy straw seized from oil tanker

RAMBAN, May 21: Police recovered and seized 650 kilograms of poppy straw from an oil tanker, while the driver managed to escape from the spot.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka near Digdol and intercepted an oil tanker. Click here to watch video
During checking, police team recovered 650 kilograms of poppy straw concealed in 33 gunny bags from one of the empty compartment of the oil tanker, while the driver managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 123/19 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Ramban Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the driver.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal recovered and seized the poppy straw under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
