EJAC gears up for strike on May 28

JAMMU, May 23: J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC-R), has appealed the employees of various departments to gear up for strike and protest demonstration at Press Club Jammu on May 28 against the decision of State administration to change summer timings in Jammu offices.
Members of EJAC-R led by Babu Hussain Malik and assisted by other trade unionists Kulwant Singh, Naresh Kumar, Ansuyia Gupta and others visited various Govt offices in Jammu today and appealed to the employees to suspend work and assemble at Press Club, Jammu near Tawi Bridge on May 28 to lodge their strong protest against the decision of the State administration to change summer timings in Govt offices in Jammu. They alleged that decades old practice in J&K has been reversed by Governor’s administration and summer timings should be restored from 8 am to 2 pm in Jammu instead of 10 am to 4.30 pm.
They also demanded enhancement of Medical allowance in favour of employees and pensioners from Rs 300 to Rs 5000 per month, remove pay anomalies of clerical cadre / amendment in SRO-333 and regularize daily wagers. They appealed to the employees at assemble at Press Club at around 10.30 am on May 28, 2019.
