KATHUA, May 25: The sleuths of Excise Department seized around 300 kilograms of poppy husk from a vehicle.
As per official spokesman, the officers and officials of Excise Department during checking at Toll Post Lakhanpur intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK01P-8720.
During checking, the sleuths recovered around 285 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle.
Later, the vehicle alongwith seized poppy straw was handed over to the Police Station Lakhanpur for further action under instant legal provision.
The whole operation was supervised by Ashish Kumar Gupta, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur and carried out by Excise and Taxation Officers Aamir Aiyaz Rather alongwith his team including Excise Inspector Rajinder Kumar, Excise Sub-Inspector Ajaz Ahmed Lala and Excise Guard Rakesh Kumar.
