Around 3.5 kanal State land retrieved

KISHTWAR, May 31: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Angrez Singh Rana, Tehsildar Kishtwar Parmod Kumar along with officials of Municipal Committee, security personnel conducted drive here to remove unlawful encroachments from the State land.
A special team headed by Tehsildar Kishtwar Parmod Kumar comprising of police force and officials of RDD and Municipal Committee Kishtwar conducted the anti encroachment drive at Salam Kanie near Government Middle School Bagwan Mohalla, Kishtwar. The unlawful construction made by Karam Chand, son of Hari Ram of Village Trigam, at present Village Kishtwar was removed on the spot and the iron stairs were seized and kept in the custody of Municipal Committee Kishtwar.
Moreover, the unlawful encroachments, in the shape of under construction two tin sheds and one under construction concrete non-residential room on the State land situated at Indira Nagar in village Lachkhazana, being unlawfully made by Tanvir Ahmed, son of Aziz Mohammad, Mohammad Ayaz, son of Abdul Rashid and Haq Nawaz (Army Employee Naik JAKLI RC), son of late Abdul Rashid respectively were also removed.
FIR has been lodged against the offenders for creating hindrance and obstructions in the eviction of unlawful encroachment from State land at Indra Nagar besides for damaging the JCB escorts, attacking the officials with stone pelting.
DC informed that about 3.5 kanal land had been retrieved from the encroachers and the retrieved land at Indra Nagar will be used for establishment of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) which will mitigate the unemployment problem.
He appealed the people to remove the encroachments from State land on their own otherwise strict action would be initiated against them. He further reiterated that this drive will continue in future and no one will be spared from such action who has encroached the State land.
