Kavinder kick starts blacktopping of road

JAMMU, June 2: Former Deputy Chief Minister & senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta today kick started the blacktopping work on Chatha Pind road which will be constructed an estimated cost of Rs. 1.22 crore.
Gupta during his tour of the area took detailed review of ongoing development activities with MLC, Vikram Randhawa, Baldev Billawria and prominent persons of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that he is keen to come up the expectations of the people and has done a lot for the overall development of the Constituency which include works pertaining to improvement of roads, electricity, water supply, education sector, and health sector and so on. He said that the works which have been stalled due to election process have been taken up on priority and the people of the Constituency have seen a massive infrastructural change from last five years. They also witnessed positive and equitable developments like sanction of additional block at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Nursing College, Degree College at Kunjwani/Sainik Colony, receiving stations at various places, massive drive of upgradation in electricity supply infrastructure, road connectivity along with other works in the Constituency.
Gupta said that blacktopping & macadamization on various road projects in the area are in progress with some works at completion stage adding that work on the rest of the roads would also be taken up in hand soon. He further said that the Government has initiated many micro and mega projects with special focus on upgrading road connectivity, provision of improved drinking water and power supply for better socio-economic profile of people.
He said that BJP believes in “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas” principle and called for the active participation of the elected councillors of each ward for the overall development of the Constituency. Referring to works started today, he said the execution of works has been initiated at Rs. 1.22 crore and all the pending works which have been approved earlier will be started in phased manner and there will be no compromise with quality of work.
He said special care will be taken in execution of different works so that the quality can be maintained and people don’t have to suffer in the future. He promised to make this constituency a model one and providing good roads is the first step towards that.
