DODA, June 2: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) visited Batote, Doda and Bhaderwah forest divisions and took a review of the preparatory works to be undertaken during the current year under various schemes like CAMPA, Capex and CSS.
Since the monsoon rains are around the corner he issued directions to start the ground work before the onset of monsoon so that post monsoon aforestation will be done in full swing so that maximum no of plants are planted during the season so as to ensure the maximum survival percentage of plants.
During the visit, PCCF visited forest compartments in Neeru and directed the staff to remain alert and take necessary action well in time to save the green gold.
He also discussed with the staff about the recent damage reported from Bhaderwah in which DFO and other staff was placed under suspension. He said that any dereliction of duty will be dealt under rules and asked the Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu and Conservator of Forests, Chenab to complete the inquiry and submit report urgently.
During the visit, PCCF has also inaugurated newly constructed Working Plan Building and Inspection Hut in Doda forest complex and instructed the DFO to complete the inventory of growing stock in various forests compartment in J&K within three months time.
Later, PCCF interacted with public of Bhaderwah appealed to them safeguard the forests from nefarious elements.
PCCF was accompanied by the Chief Conservator Forests Jammu Sameer Bharti, Conservator of Forests East Circle Mohan Daas, Conservator of Forests Chenab Circle Satpal, DFO Jammu Alok Maurya, DFO Doda Navneet Singh, DFO Batote Safeer Shah, DFO Bhaderwah Chandershekhar, Deputy Director FPF Doda Mohinder Singh, DFO Kisthwar Bishan Dass, DFO Marwah Vijay Kumar, DM SFC, and other officers from Wildlife, Soil Conservation and PCB.
