JAMMU, June 2: To observe and make the masses aware about ‘World No Tobacco Day and to promote the Duggar traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) organized week-long special campaign on ‘Drug Abuse’ in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production & National College of Computer Education Janipur and presented its 263rd Saturday Series Musical Play ‘Nashe Kola Bacho’ at open air theatre, Durga Bhawan, Janipur, here.
The campaign was launched to promote most effective measures to protect the masses, especially the vulnerable population i.e. adolescents from getting exploited by the menace of drug addiction and enable them to adopt safe and rational use of drugs by way of generating awareness through effective information and communication technologies.
The play was written and directed by ML Dogra, renowned writer and musical play director.
The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest, VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India.
Dr AC Bhagat, former Chief Officer Department of Animal Husbandry, Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department J&K Government of India, R PAmla, Event Director, JK Raina, Freelance Producer/Director Films, Dr Anju Kumari Dogra, Directorate of Health, J&K Government.
The chief guest specially highlighted the ill effects of the Tobacco.
The music of the play was assisted by Master Raju Bajgal.
During the campaign BLSKS will present total 7 programmes at villages like Sohal, Pargwal, Jourian, Batada and Shalle of Jammu District.
The campaign will be concluded on June 8, 2019 at Open Air Theatre Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu.
Earlier, welcome speech was given by ML Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan who threw light on the bad effects of tobacco.
The singers, musicians, actors and students of music and computer institute who performed in the musical play were Raju Bajgal, Renu Saproo, Dhruv Pandit, Kuldeep Raj, Chahat Chadha, Deevam Jandiyal, Rahul Kumar, Rakshit Sharma, Ujwal Sharma, Azeen, Mitali, Mahi, Surinder Verma, Angel Sharma and Mahi. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
