Woman, son thrashed badly by relatives

RAJOURI, June 3: A widow and her son received serious injurious when some of their relatives thrashed them badly following a dispute.
According to a police official, a woman identified as Parveen Akhter wife of late Abdul Rashid, resident of Dodason Balla (Thanamandi) and her son Ishtaq Ahmed were brutally beaten up by her nephews, Altaf Hussain and Saddam Hussain, their father Gulzar Hussain and others last evening after a scuffle broke out between both the parties over some household issue.
“The woman and her son received serious injuries in the scuffle,” the official said, adding both of them were rushed to District Hospital, Rajouri for treatment and in the meanwhile, members of other party who had minor injuries in the scuffle, went to police station Thanamandi with a complaint of assault by the woman and her son.
The official said that at about 10:30 PM, the police station Thanamandi got information that a woman and her son with severe injuries have reached District Hospital, Rajouri for treatment after which a police official was deputed to record their statement. He said police recorded their statement and on the basis of a written complaint submitted by the injured son of the woman, a case FIR 95/2019 under Sections 307,452, 147, 148, 382 was registered against Altaf Hussain, Saddam Hussain and others at police station Thanamandi.
SHO, Police Station Thanamandi, Javed Malik, said that accused are absconding but police teams are on job and they will be arrested soon. He said late last night the injured woman and her son were shifted to GMC Jammu for further treatment and their condition was stated to be stable there.
