Package employees warn to leave Valley

JAMMU, June 4: Panic gripped the migrant quarters at Sheikhpora Budgam today when some outsiders tried to occupy a newly constructed building forcibly. This evoked a strong protest by the inmates of the camp and resulted into a group clash.
The migrants alleged that the outsiders who tried to occupy the quarters forcibly used swords to harass the camp inmates. The protesting migrants accused administration for the same and alleged that how the outsiders entered into the camp when the police guard is on the gate.
They warned to leave the Valley in case such situation continues as they have been harassed both by outsiders as well as police. They demanded a high level probe into the matter and action against the erring officials.
The protesting migrants said that this shows that Government is not totally bothered for their security and safety despite the issue being brought in its notice number of times.
However the authorities swung into action alter and evacuated all the outsiders who had occupied the quarters and sealed them.
Meanwhile the KP Sabha president, K K Khosa has also condemned the incident and accused the Government of taking the issue of PM package employees for whom the quarters were constructed leniently. Khosa while talking to Excelsior said the Government is not sincere for the welfare of the displaced Pandits and all its claims in this regard are totally hollow.
Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) has also expressed its strong resentment and concern over the forcible occupation of quarters at Sheikhpora by outsiders and alleged that despite sounding the Government in advance about such moves it failed to take pre-emptive measures.
YAIKS president, R K Baht and its senior leader Ajay Safaya said that administration was totally responsible for today’s episode and asked how the outsiders in large number managed to enter the camp premises when the police guard was there.
YAIKS leaders said that they have taken up the issue with DC Budgam, Relief Commissioner and other officers and expressed grave concern over the security lapses at Sheikhpora Camp.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri has also condemned the trespassing at Sheikhpora migrant quarters and demanded action against the policemen on duty who allowed the outsiders to enter the camp premises and create a high drama there.
