JAMMU, June 4: Over 60 consumers were penalized today for power theft by Electric M&RE Division-II, Gandhi Nagar of Power Development Department.
Intensifying its drive against power pilferage, a series of inspections were conducted today by Electric M&RE Division-II under the guidance of PD Singh, Executive Engineer, at different localities falling under the jurisdiction of Shastri Nagar Sub-Division.
The inspections teams headed by Jagdeep Singh Sasan (AEE) along with BS Chib (AE) and Balbir Kumar (AE), Feeder Manager and field staff, inspected 22 installations in Greater Kailash Section, where 12 consumers were found using load more than their agreement and one person was found using illegal hooking, which was removed on the spot.
At Dream Home Apartments, 14 illegal connections were found, which were disconnected on spot and service lines were removed. At Rani Talab, 21 installations were inspected out of which 4 were found using illegal hooking and 12 consumers were found using excess load.
The team inspected 45 installations at Sanjay Nagar, where 18 illegal hooking were removed on the spot. The load of 27 consumers was also enhanced. Further, a total of 80 kW load was enhanced.
