Change in office timings among demands of EJAC

JAMMU, June 6: J&K Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) here today under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, EJAC President organized a meeting and demanded change in office timing of Government employees.
The EJAC members in the meeting said that office timing in Jammu division should be changed from 10 am – 4:30 pm to 8 am -2 pm or five days a week as is there in Civil Secretariat because there is scorching heat these days and the Government offices lack proper infrastructure.
Other demands of the employees included enhancing of medical allowance to Rs 5000 per month, removal of pay anomaly of clerical cadre, withdrawal of SRO 30 which is allegedly against the interests of daily wagers, contractual workers, need based casual labourers, anganwari workers and helpers etc.
Still another demand was that of regularization of gazzetted and non-gazzetted employees of Education Department including teachers, head masters, lecturers, ReTs and others and release of salary and Seventh Pay Commission arrears under SSA.
All the members appealed to the Governor to redress the grievances of the employees else they will come on streets to protest.
