ADKUF urges Govt to settle demands of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, June 6: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in a meeting here, today discussed the burning problems of displaced Kashmiri Pandits and urged the Government to settle them without any delay.
Forum urged the State Election authorities to issue voter identity cards to eligible voters since voter I cards have still not been issued to maximum displaced voters. Forum reiterated its demand of creating constituencies in exile for Assembly and Parliament till KPs are rehabilitated at a single place in Kashmir.
It further demanded doing away with cumbersome M forum system.
Forum alleged that Government is non serious about the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits from Valley and it seems that the process has been shelved permanently. It also termed reservation of jobs to KPs living near LoC prior to migration is nothing less than a joke. It said the PMs employment package parroted for a decade has still not been implemented fully.
Encroachment of Pandits property is on rise which must be stopped effectively and those be punished who have occupied the immovable property of Pandits forcibly.
The Forum demanded accommodation with all facilities should be provided to all KP employees in Valley with adequate security.
Erratic and unscheduled water supply and power cuts particularly in and around Durganagar is a cause of concern and Forum appealed the concerned that water should be supplied regularly following an area wise fixed time table. There should be no power cuts during the Summer season, it added.
It expressed concern over stoppage of ration against APL cards to migrants and demanded that it should be restored at par with Valley.
Forum appealed Government that all displaced families living in rented accommodation should be provided with Government accommodation.
Addressing meeting chief advisor of the Forum, Prof G L Koul demanded proper security to displaced employees living in various camps at Srinagar. He also expressed concern over the land grabbing of a poor displaced family at Jammu and demanded its restoration immediately.
Besides, the chairman of the Forum, DN Kissu, president, PL Sudeshi, president, Women Wing, Phoola Koul, general secretary, PN Raina, CL Zutshi, ML Koul and PL Razdan also spoke in the meeting.
