Japanese delegation visits ASCOMS, reviews preparation of interns

JAMMU, June 7: A 2-member Japanese delegation today visited ASCOMS Jammu to check the progress of first batch of interns who are being trained here to work in Japan.
The delegation comprising Yamazaki Takao from FA Group and Tomassadamori Kakuda from Blue Works interacted with the trainees, trainers and also with other faculty and management of ASCOMS Centre of Excellence.
Briefing the media persons on Indo- Japan Internship program, Manik Batra, Director Batra Group, informed that on October 17, 2017 an MoU was signed between the JITCO (Japanese International Training Cooperation Organisation) and MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship) at Tokyo, Japan to have quality exchange of employment.
He said that the program was aimed at supporting the economically weaker sections of the society by furthering their skills and empowering them socially so as they participate in shaping the global economy. “IB Skills was appointed as a sending organization for Indo-Japan Technical Intern Training Program on March 28, 2018 by the National Skill Development Council. After interviews, the first batch of 20 students was formed who are undergoing training of Japanese culture and Japanese language at ASCOMS Centre of Excellence by a highly skilled faculty from Delhi,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Yamazaki Takao said “We are happy to be here in Jammu. The first batch of candidates is fully prepared in all terms and hopefully we would be able to start recruiting interns to work in Japan soon “.
Tomassadamori Kakuda said, “This is our first visit to J&K but looking at the quality of the students hopefully we would be visiting again in the future to recruit more interns from J&K.”
Manik Batra said, “This is probably the first time that any Japanese companies have come to J&K to recruit interns. We have team of highly skilled Japanese trainers from Delhi and our vision is to create more opportunities for the people of J&K to work in Japan. This probably is the first of many more visits to come in the future.”
The other dignitaries present in the programme were Maninder Singh Nayar, Co-Chairman, ASSOCHAM Skill Council, DK Batra, Joint Secretary, ASCOMS, Dr Pawan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS, Bhisham Batra, Director, Batra Group and Deeksha Gandotra, Versatile DMCC, Dubai.
