Ajatshatru demands package for Ragunath Temple

JAMMU, June 8: Senior BJP leader and Trustee Shree Dharmarth Trust, MLC, Ajatshatru Singh today demanded central package for developing areas around Shree Ragunath Ji Temple.
In a statement Singh said: “After the opening of railway access to Katra, Jammu traders and business community are finding it difficult to sustain as the tourist influx in Jammu has reduced.”
He further said that being largely dependent on tourists, trading community of Jammu needs some support and Shree Ragunath Temple seems to be a great game-changer if area around it is developed properly.
Singh has appealed to the central government to develop Shree Ragunath Ji Temple and areas around it on the pattern of Shree Harmandir Sahib popularly known as Golden Temple.
“There should be a large corridor around the temple so that devotees can offer prayers at this world famous temple,” he stated adding that state-of-the-art infrastructure including parking facilities, toilet complexes, parks etc should be developed around the temple complex so that the tourists and pilgrims visiting the State are may seek blessings of Shree Ragunath Ji too.
He further said that the heritage markets adjoining the temple complex also needs facelift.
