SAMBA, June 10: A rigorous checking was conducted in Bari Brahmana area under the supervision of AEE Electrical, Er Rajeev Sharma on the directives of higher authorities to check illegal connections.
The drive was conducted to disconnect the illegal hookings and to unearth the concealed load used by the consumers. It is pertinent to mention that due to scorching heat wave conditions the electric system gets overloaded and load crosses the limit beyond the capacity of electric transformers and lines. The main focus of the drive was to educate the masses about the judicious use of electricity and use of power as per agreement load. Appeal was made to general public to use ISI mark appliances, LED bulbs and avoid the use of raw heaters and other such appliances.
The team was accompanied by Er K.N Singh A.E, Er’ Ravi Khah,Vinod Digra,Vijay Ragni, F.M Sudershan Singh, meter readers Mushtaq Ahmed,Mohan Lal,Raju,Pankaj,Monu.
Number of illegal connections were removed and 20 kw load was regularised and fine of Rs 10,000 was imposed on violators. Power Development Department has advised people not to resort to illegal hooking and drawal of power in excess of agreement load in order to enable the department to maintain reliable power supply.
Meanwhile keeping in view the rising load of electricity in the Summer season, the team of officials of the Electricity Department conducted surprise raid in the Ramgarh town on Sunday. During the raid the PDD team snapped many illegal connections and broke the heaters.
On the guidance of Executive Engineer of PDD, Samba, Narottam Kumar and under the supervision of JE Sub Division, Ramgarh Chandr Veer, along with his team 30 illegal connection in Ramgarh and surrounding slums were snapped. At the same time, the power of the workshop service station in the town Ramgarh was also cut by a team of PDD led by JE Chander Vir, Meter Reader, Suresh Kumar, Yashpaul , Puranlal Lineman Satpaul and other officials. The team disconnected the illegal connections of Ramgarh and also destroyed many heaters.
JE Ramgarh, Chandr Veer said that the team will take similar action against the defaulters in the coming days. According to JE Ramgarh Chandr Veer, there were 30 slums dwellers in the area who are using illegal electricity and were also using heaters.
