Sir,
This refers to the article ‘Save Vishaw River of Kulgam’ (Daily Excelsior 6.6.2019). This river is so neat and clean at Aharbal but one can’t recognize the river once it reaches Kulgam town. Tons of garbage is not only dumped on the banks of river Vishaw but the waste is thrown inside the river itself. The concerned official should be booked for criminal negligence as tons of solid waste is dumped inside the river bed as well.
I am unable to understand what has happened to conscience of our Government officers ? They are doing mere drama by carrying brooms and organizing events like Swachta Hi Seva Hai and going to schools and colleges to hold debates on cleanliness and Swach Bharat Abhiyaan etc . This is a mockery and nothing more than that. If Municipal Authorities who are supposed to implement solid waste rules of 2016 are themselves involved in violation of these rules what can we expect from general masses. Pollution Control Board is also in a deep slumber as it has become mute spectators to all this catastrophe.
