JAMMU, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir Private Schools Coordination Committee (JKPSCC) has alleged that some elements are blaming private schools for charging exorbitant and unnecessary fee from the students.
In a press conference here today Rameshwar Singh Manhas, president JKPSCC said that they will take legal action against such elements very soon.

He quoted an order of Jammu Kashmir Fee Fixation Committee (FFC) to say that all Private Schools of J&K may charge fees under four heads—monthly fee, annual fee, transportation fee and voluntary fee.
Manhas informed that the transportation fee would be charged on ‘pay as you go basis’ and voluntary fee would be charged only if the parents are willing to make their ward participate in events like picnics etc. “Moreover, the order issued by FFC restricts the schools to increase their fees structure by more than 6 per cent annually if their monthly fee is more than Rs 1000 and or their annual fee is more than Rs 6000,” he said claiming that almost all private schools of Jammu province have complied to the Order of FFC by submitting their fee structure in the prescribed format to the chairman FFC, Director School Education and Chief Education Officer of respective Districts.
