Polytechnic students make electric, all terrain bike

JAMMU, June 11: The students of Automobile Engineering Department of Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk here developed ‘Electric Bike and All Terrain Bike’ as a part of projects in their final semester.
Arun Bangotra, Principal of the College congratulated the students and the staff members involved in the innovative projects.
The students converted a Hero Pulsar 100 cc bike into Electric Bike by making many modifications. This bike is environment friendly with cheaper travelling expenses.
They also converted 180 cc Pulsar bike into All Terrain Vehicle again by modifications. The All Terrain Vehicle can travel on low tyre pressure and is easy to balance having easier and comfortable steering control and can run on rough roads.
The two innovative Bikes were prepared by students Mikul Sharma, Suraj Parkash Verma, Ravi Kumar, Nischal Zutshi, Zubair Rashid Lone, Vishal Kotwal, Parshant Singh Baghal and Zeeshan Reyaz.
They took three months to complete the project and the design of the bikes were totally different from other bikes. They were guided by the HoD Rajesh Gupta and faculty members of Automobile Engineering Department Navdeep Sharma, Ajay Dogra, Atul Kodhi Surjeet Phounsa, Purshottam Lal and Vinod Kumar.
