Blood Donation Camps mark ‘World Blood Donors Day’

JAMMU, June 14: Government Medical College (GMC) here today observed ‘World Blood Donors Day’ wherein Dr Sunanda Raina, GMC Principal urged the youth to come forward and donate blood to the needy patients.
On this occasion Department of Transfusion Medicine of GMC organized voluntary blood donation camps in collaboration with 326 Field Hospital at Tiger Polyclinic in Satwari and at BD Polyclinic Military Station.
Over 150 army personnel and their family members donated blood in these camps.
The camp was conducted by Dr Meena Sidhu, Prof and Head of Department, Dr Vidushi and Dr Anshu Mahajan along with a team of technicians and nurses.
Social organization ‘Nation First Trust’ in collaboration with District Hospital Ramban today observed ‘World Blood Donors Day’ and organized a blood donation camp at Ramban District Hospital.
Volunteers of the Trust Saqib Rafiq, Deeraj Singh, Rohit Kumar, Amandeep Singh, Anwar Ahmed, Raghunath Singh, Anwar Ahmed, Paramveer Singh, Kalyan Singh, Saqib Rafiq, Zahur Magray and Shakeel Ahmeed donated their blood in the camp.
Health and Eco Club of Govt Degree College Sarh Bagga Mahore, Reasi in collaboration with 59 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) Bagga organized a lecture on ‘World Blood Donors Day’.
Club Convener, Prof Naseeb Kumar, Prof Ashraf Nawaz, Principal of the College and Captain Dr Suma S.K of 59 RR spoke on the importance of ‘World Blood Donors Day’.
