JAMMU, June 14: The decision to grant educational scholarships to five crore boys and girls from the minority communities in next five years belies the false propaganda of the so-called secular brigade against Narendra Modi that minorities, Muslims in particular, were not safe under him. This has been the first major and historic decision taken by Narendra Modi Government after assuming office for the second time and goes towards the fulfilment of the poll promise.
Under this comprehensive scheme, the students from minorities will be provided scholarships for pre-matric, post-matric, professional and technical courses, with provision of 50 per cent share of girls, BJP State spokesman Balbir Ram Rattan said here, today.
He said the basic concept of this wholesome scheme lies in 3Es, which focuses on education, employment and empowerment. The most innovative concept in this scheme is the stress on such education which would enable the beneficiaries to get employment after education and thereby to empower society.
Balbir Ram Rattan, while sharing this scheme with the office bearers of BJP Minority Morcha in a meeting at party headquarter, here, today said that Narendra Modi led Government during its first tenure of five years, displayed real concern for the welfare and empowerment of the minorities, which included Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Parsi and Buddhists.
Balbir said that it was the same Modi Government which started monthly train from New Delhi to all five Takhts of Sikh religion namely Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib, Damdama Sahib, Patna Sahib and Huzoor Sahib. The long pending demand of the Sikhs of J&K was also fulfilled by Modi Government with the starting of direct weekly train from Jammu to Huzoor Sahib, Nanded in Maharashtra, reflecting the respect for this class, which has made supreme sacrifices, given great warriors and patriots to the country.
Similarly, the other minorities are also covered under all such schemes which are launched from time to time for their socio-economic upliftment, Balbir said and added that ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas’ is not mere a slogan but principle line of taking all together in matters of development, welfare and nation building .
Those who were in the meeting included BJP All Cells Incharge S. Varinderjeet Singh, BJP Minority Morcha State press & media incharge Asad Mallick, State media secretary, D.K. Bhan, Jammu West district president, Abbas Khan, District vice-president, Yudhvir Singh, district general secretaries, Er. Sartej Singh and Mudassir Ahmed Wani and district secretary, Anwar Shah.
