GDC Bishnah adopts village Dhinday Khurd

JAMMU, May 9: Students of Government Degree College (GDC), Bishnah today visited and adopted village Dhinday Khurd.
Principal of the college Prof Kalpana Kesar, NSS Programme Officer Prof Archana Bakshi, NSS volunteers along with staff members visited the village and also conducted a visit to two Anganwadi centers.
Prof Archana Bakshi initiated the proceedings of the programme by collecting the data of total population of the village, male-female ratio and generated awareness among the women regarding female foeticide which is a danger and threat to the society. NSS volunteers educated the women of that village about Girl Child Education.
Earlier, Prof Kalpana Kesar, encouraged the rural women to send their wards to join college for higher education. Prof Hardeep Kour also stressed on the girl child education for the development of the society. Two NSS Volunteers Rakesh Jamwal and Shivalee Khajuria also spoke on the role of girl child in the development of the Nation.
During the activity, signature campaign was organised to save the girl child.
At the end, Prof Anshu Andotra, presented vote of thanks.
Among others present were Bandhu Sharma, Chanan Lal Sandhu and Ashwani Raina.
