Notorious vehicle lifter-cum-shop breaker arrested

2 fraudsters nabbed with fake documents

JAMMU, June 16: Police arrested a notorious vehicle lifter-cum-shop breaker and two fraudsters.
As per police sources, on June 12 this year, a police team from Nagrota Police Station during patrolling apprehended a suspect while breaking the locks of a shop at Majeen.
The apprehended person was identified as Darshan Singh alias Moluthu, son of Ramesh Singh, a resident of village Marta, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur.
A case under FIR Number 248/19 under section 379 and 511 RPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
During the course of sustained questioning, the arrested person turned out to be a notorious vehicle lifter against whom 15 cases have already been registered in police stations Ramnagar, Udhampur, Chenani, Basantgarh and Pancheri.
On one occasion when police team went to arrest him, he attacked police party with axe. He is so terrorized people that he used to break 5 to 6 shops in one single night.
On his disclosure, 1 Maruti van bearing registration number JK14D-3744 has been recovered and more recoveries are expected within days.
Police team led by ASI Kartar Singh along with Constable Sobat Ali and SPO Avinash Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma.
Meanwhile, on May 25 this year, a team from Sidhra Police Post seized a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02CA-5132 loaded with bovine animals and arrested one person, who was identified as Zahoor Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi, a resident of Chak Dablehar, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 221/19 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, the arrested person produced permission issued by DC Jammu regarding transportation of bovine animals. Apparently, the permission looked fake and when scrutinized it turned out to be fake.
On further questioning, the accused disclose that he took permission from Bipin Singh, son of Pritpal Singh of Trikuta Nagar. Police team swung into action and nabbed Bipin Singh, who disclosed that he used to make documents through Vikram Seth, son of late Ramesh Kumar of Kachi Chhawni Jammu. Vikram was immediately arrested and put to sustaining questioning during which he confessed his guilty of making fake documents including RCs, driving licences, insurance certificates, route permits, etc.
Police parties headed by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal, SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Parvez Ahmed Khanday along with Naib Tehsildar Nagrota Dinesh Anthal conducted raid at the rented shop of Vikram Seth at Paloura and recovered computer set along with two printers, scanner, fake driving licences, fake PAN cards and stamps of different departments, which were seized on spot in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
