SAMBA, Feb 28: Activists of Samba Joint Action Committee and truck operators today held protest dharna outside the office of Dy Commissioner here today.
The SJAC members led by Mohan Singh Slathia convenor, Sarpanch Kuber Singh and Sarpanch Shamsher Singh assembled at the DC office compelx at Samba and started protest dharna. They were also raising slogans against SSP Samba and demanding judicial inquiry into the episode of beating up of truckers at SIDCO complex by police and their illegal arrest and detention.
After staging day long protest demonstration, they also submitted a memorandum to the Dy Commissioner Mubarak Singh and demanded immediate inquiry into the matter. They alleged that police in connivance with the industrialists was harassing the truckers and Truck Union members.
