BJYM demands airlifting of stranded Kargil passengers

JAMMU, Feb 28: Highlighting the plights of stranded passengers of Kargil in the capital cities, Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha has demanded airlifting of these persons.
“Despite having confirmed air ticket, more than seven hundred people, including women, children and aged persons from Kargil, are stranded in Jammu and Srinagar due to non-availability of flights and facing hardships,” said Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, BJYM State spokesperson, while talking to media persons at the BJP headquarters, here today.
He alleged that people from Kargil were suffering while leaders of the area, including Councilors, MLAs, and MP were taking no interest in their own masses. “These stranded passengers are staying in Kargil Sharai near Bahu Plaza without proper facilities, like food, lodging and bedding”, the BJYM leader said and demanded that the Ministry of Civil Aviation should take immediate action and airlift these people to their destination.
He also demanded chopper service to Zanskar.
Expressing solidarity with BJYM, another activist Sajjad Kargili said that people of Ladakh have seen a ray of hope in BJP, which highlighted their plights.
State Vice president Sanjay Kumar and BJYM State Secretary Makson Bharti were also present in the press conference.
