2 PDD employees receive burn injuries

JAMMU, June 24: Two employees of Power Development Department (PDD) received severe burn injuries due to electric shock at Power Station Hatli Morh, near here, today.
The duo was working in the Power Station to earth the transformer. Suddenly they received an electric shock, were injured and fell unconscious.
Both were shifted to District Hospital Kathua. One of the seriously injured identified as Suresh Kumar, son of Bhajan Singh of Khorate was referred to Amritsar for specialized treatment. The another injured identified as Rakesh Kumar, son of Krishan Chand resident of Damal is under treatment in District Hospital, Kathua.
His condition is also serious and he is under observation of doctors. The injured said that they were working in Power Station workshop Hatli Morh for installation of a transformer. They received severe burn injuries due to electric shock. They demanded compensation and expenses of their costly treatment be borne by the Government.
