Dr Raina briefs RBI staff on Yoga

JAMMU, June 24: Dr T. R. Raina, former Prof Head Blood Transfusion Department and former Programme Director Advanced Yoga Centre Government Medical College Jammu today gave a presentation on ‘Stress Management through Yoga’ and interacted with the employees of Reserve Bank of India head office here.
During a Power Point Presentation, Dr Raina said that in this era of advanced technology & fast life, everybody is under stress and strain and it has been proved scientifically that more than 95 % diseases are because of chronic stress and strain & out of this in 90 % of the cases “we think wrongly about ourselves and for others also.”
“This type of nature we have to change by adopting yogic way of life which is very easy to do,” he said.
He further said that, Yoga is an ancient Indian philosophy of life based on scientific foundations and is not religion based system and is in fact most secular and universal system of brotherhood. “It brings out dormant potential of human being, positive change in attitude and behavior. Yoga is beneficial for physical, mental and spiritual health including biochemical and therapeutic aspects,” he added.
The lecture was followed by a question answer session with the demonstration of some simple yogic techniques which help in increasing the will power, relaxation, memory and love and respect for the humanity.
