MENDHAR, June 24: The people from Pathanateer area of Mendhar held protest against the PHE authorities for their failure to restore the snapped water supply at Pathanateer and adjoining hamlets for the last about two months.
Reports said that the villagers from Pathanateer and adjoining areas assembled at the village and held protest demonstration against the local PHE authorities. They alleged that PHE Sub Division has failed to restore water supply despite repeated requests. They alleged that pumping station at the village has been found locked for the past several weeks now. The concerned local staff claims that pumps are not working being out of order. The matter was brought to the notice of concerned JE and supervisor but water supply could not be restored, they added.
A villager Sayed Faisal Shah urged upon the higher authorities at Poonch to ensure better monitoring at lower level and ensure supply of water in the area, otherwise, the people would be forced to lock PHE officials at Mendhar PHE Sub Divisional office.
