Ladakh accords grand reception to Thai monks

LEH, June, 26: Hundreds of Thai monks who embark on a month -long Pad Yatra to spread the message for world peace reached Leh today. On their arrival in Leh a grand reception was accorded by members of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gonpa Association, Anjuman Moin-Ul-Islam, Anjuma Imamiya, Christian Association and other socio-political leaders of Leh led by Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) founder Director, Bhikkhu Sanghasena at Shey village.
From the Shey village all the peoples who accorded them reception joined the monk to walk upto CIBS Choglamsar. This is the 4th Pad Yatra organised by Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Dewachan Leh. After seeking blessing from Dalai Lama in Dharamshala, these monks embarked their journey towards Ladakh from Dharamshala on May 25. Chanting prayer for the world peace these Yatris will cover a distance of approximately 250 kilometres.
While receiving them at Shey village this afternoon MIMC founder director, Bhikkhu Sanghasena said that the monks from Thialand took so much of pain and trouble crossing many high passes of Himalaya just to spread the message of love, peace and compassion. He added that such Yatra not only help in spreading message of peace to the world but also gives an opportunity to strengthen relation between Thailand and India. “In the world of suffering desperately needing for peace this Yatra will convey a message for the world and every individual has a capability to change in the world and father of the Nation is an example to us” said Sanghasena.
