REASI, June 26: Hundreds of locals staged protest and sit in dharna against the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board for not recruiting the locals in the Board.
The unemployed educated youth of Ransoo and adjoining areas sit on dharna at Ransoo whereas locals also closed their shops for around 3 hours in protest and raised slogans against Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board and district administration.
“This is high time for the district administration to come forward for the support of local people and recruit them”, protestors said, urging Board officers not to do backdoor appointments. They further said that the officers sitting at the helm of affairs are taking people of Reasi for granted.
They warned the administration as well as the Shrine Board that if their demands are not fulfilled they will come on road and block main road. The locals demanded that vacancy in Board should be filled and priority should be given to locals. Later on Naib Tehsildar Ransoo reached the spot and pacified the protestors after which they dispersed off.
