REASI, June 27: Police today smashed an illicit liquor kiln in a village under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station and also arrested the accused bootlegger.
A Police Party from Police Station Arnas raided village Sarundi Kanthan, Tehsil Arnas and apprehended the accused bootlegger, identified as Kapoor Singh son of Kunj Lal of Sarundi, who was preparing and selling illicit liquor since long.
Five litres of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession and seized while 30 litres of lahan, recovered from the house of accused, was destroyed on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR number 43/19 U/S 48(e) Excise Act was registered at P/S Arnas. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Ashok Sharma, SDPO Arnas, who was assisted by SHO Arnas, Insp Soma Ram.
