SRINAGAR: Fresh batches of pilgrims on Tuesday left base camps for the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas , where about 10000 yatris had darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam so far.
A yatra official said that a fresh batch of about 3800 pilgrims, including women and sadhus left Nunwan Pahalgam base camp for Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on traditional track.
Meanwhile, the pilgrims who had night halt at different station on traditional route left for next stations early Tuesday morning.
He said about 5200 pilgrims also left Baltal base camp for the holy cave early Tuesday morning.
The pilgrims, including women, children and sadhus will reach the holy cave after covering the distance on foot, he said.
Official said 8400 pilgrims had darshan on the first day of the commencement of the annual pilgrimage to holy cave since July 1st and conclude on August 15.
Since early this morning about 2000 pilgrims have darshan of the ice shivlingam since early this morning.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan said 24X7 medical service and 31 SDRF teams in 20 locations for the pilgrims. He said four additional transit camps have been established in the valley.
Mr Khan said additional transit camp has been established at Panthachowk with all basic amenities enough to cater to 2000 pilgrims. He further said two more transit camps have been established at HMT and Zakura, in case of exigency. More than a thousand Amarnath yatris will be accommodated in these transit camps.
He said Medical camps are established at higher reaches include MG Top, Wagbal, Poshpathri and other locations with oxygen booths, doctors, paramedical staff, medicines, critical care ambulances and other facilities.
All major hospitals in Anantnag, Srinagar and Ganderbal districts have also been dedicated to the pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra on 24×7 basis. A total of 31 teams of SDRF teams have already been stationed at 20 locations with 556 personnel on the job. Tourism department has already established 31 shelter sheds at various locations enroute to the holy cave.
The Divisional Commissioner has directed Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Ganderbal to issue Bar Coded passes to bonafide card holders like Tent, Dhand, Pony walas and other yatra facility providers. He called for immediately stopping tresspassing of unauthorised persons at Yatra locations.
Anantnag and Ganderbal administration were asked to check signal efficiency of mobile phones at higher reaches en-route to the cave and furnish a report within a day to the Divisional Commissioner for further course of necessary action.
Concerned District Administrations and traffic department will enforce Amarnath Yatra route plan in letter and spirit.
