LEH, Mar 1: Social Audit under MGNREGA for the year 2012-13 of Halqa Panchayat Phyang was conducted today under the chairmanship of Sonam Dawa. For conducting the social audit, Tsering Sampel was unanimously nominated as Secretary from the Gram Sabha.
The Sarpanch Phyang Tundup Spalzang presented expenditure statement under MGNREGA and said that during the year, 16 works were taken up under MGNREGA, out of which 9 have been completed till date at an expenditure of Rs 6.02 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion Councilor Phyang Tsering Sonam urged upon the Panchayat members to maintain transparency and accountability of works.
Addressing the Gram Sabha in tandem, Sonam Dolma, Secretary Halqa Panchayat Phyang explained the concept of social audit to the forum while as Nambarder Phyang Tashi Dorjey stressed on higher expenditures under MGNREGA and urged the job seekers to avail 100 days guaranteed employment.
The BDO, Leh Sonam Norboo who is also the Progarmme Officer, MGNREGA and his subordinate staff were also present in the social audit to reply the queries/complaints from the Gram Sabha.
