JAMMU, July 2: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today termed the grant of three percent reservation to people of International Border (IB) a landmark decision of Narendra Modi led Union Government.
Reacting to Government decision at a press conference here, today State BJP president, Ravinder Raina, former Dy.CM, Kavinder Gupta and State spokesperson, Ranbir Singh Pathania, termed the Union Government decision a landmark step and congratulated the people who live along IB on the passage of J&K Reservation Bill (Amendment) in Lok Sabha.
Raina said the decision is a milestone in the history of the State. He further complimented the PM, Narendra Modi as well as Union Home Minister, Amit Shah for showing the guts and will thereby facilitating extension of 3% reservation to IB dwellers at par with people living near Line of Control (LoC), and coming to the rescue of those who have been neglected by previous Governments since decades together. Raina was however critically about the negative attitude of Opposition who have opposed the Government even on the issues of public importance and national concern. Rather, people who have been in power in the State, and elected again and again, owe an explanation to the masses for denying justice to International Border dwellers. He further said that the people of J&K will stand like a rock behind, the path-breaking initiatives taken by Modi led Government during President’s rule in J&K. He said present Government stood true to the Mantra coined by Narendra Modi- “Sabka Sath,Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”.
He further expressed hope and optimism on behalf of people of the State that such public friendly measures would be taken in near future by the Centre.
