DGP promotes 85 SIs, sanctions scholarship for meritorious wards of police personnel

SRINAGAR, July 2: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has ordered promotion of 85 Sub-Inspectors (SIs) to the rank of Inspectors and also sanctioned scholarship for meritorious wards of police personnel.
As recommended by the Departmental Promotion Committee regarding grant of promotion to the police personnel of Executive and Armed and after thorough scrutiny of the service records, promotion in respect of 85 Sub-Inspector to the rank of Inspectors has been ordered.
The promoted personnel include Mubarak Shah, Vinod Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, Mohammad Irfan, Mehraj Khalid Giri, Sanjay Kumar Raina, Ragzin Angchook, Sureshwar Dev Singh, Jahingir Ahmed, Parvez Ahmad, Ranjit Singh, Mohammad Farooq Hussain, Syed Mudasir Javaid, Mehraj Ud Din Wani, Jigmet Singgay Wangdus, Zaffar Iqbal Dar 7, Kiran Kumar, Tashi Gyalson, Shamsher Lal, Mohinder Singh, Nasar Iqbal Mughal, Hilal Mohammad Azhar, Shamim Ahmad, Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Khalid Rashid Mirchal, Nayat Ali, Showkat Ahmad Bhat, Kirti Sharma, Rashid Ahmed Malik, Parveez Ahmad, Abdullah , Abdul Majid Wani, Arti Thakur, Zahoor Ahmad Khan, Aamir Mir, Mohammad Shafi Bhat, Wasim Raja Ganie, Firdous Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Maqsood, Manzoor Ahmad, Mumtaz Ali Khan, Jaipal , Sunil Kumar Bhat, Ishfaq Ahmad, Jeet Singh (SHO Bhawan), Rakesh Singh, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir 8, Balvinder Singh, Nazir Ahmad, Faroz Ahmad Khan, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Sumit Sharma, Deepak Sharma, Sheikh Mohammad Saleem, Parviez Ahmad Bhat, Gurmukh Singh, Vinod Kumar Pandith, Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, Sarwar Hussain Mir, Bashir Ahmad, Ghulam Murtaza, Salinder Singh, Nazir Ahmad, Suhail Mushtaq, Mohammad Mansoor, Arifa Jan, Pinki Devi, Shazia Khan, Manju Bala, Baynazir Iqbal, Halima Bagum, Arjamand Ayoub, Diskit Ladol, Rinchin Wangmo, Ankush Chib, Varun Dev Singh, Rashid Ahmad, Varinder Singh, Sabina Khanum, Deep Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Krishan Lal, Sunder Singh, Trliok Singh and Tariq Ahmad.
DGP has expressed hope that the promotion will serve as an inspiration for the personnel to perform their duties in higher ranks with enhanced dedication and zeal.
Meanwhile, with an aim to harness talent of the wards of police personnel, J&K Police sanctioned scholarships for meritorious police wards, who excel in the field of education. Such scholarships are provided for securing eighty percent and above marks in class 10th or 12th for each academic session at different rates.
As a part of this welfare measure, DGP Dilbag Singh sanctioned Rs 3 lakh scholarship for 60 wards of serving police personnel. The wards have secured 80% and above marks in 10th class during the academic session 2018-19.
Rs 6,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of 30 wards for securing above 90% marks in the examination. Similarly Rs 4,000 each have been sanctioned in favour of the wards who have secured above eighty and below ninety per cent marks in the said examination.
52 students including 27 girls, who have been benefited, are wards of lower subordinates and 8 wards belong to non-gazetted officers of the force.
Under the scheme, scholarships were provided for meritorious wards of non gazetted personnel and lower subordinates including followers and SPOs.
In the recent 14th meeting of Central Police Welfare Committee which was held at PHQ in June this year, it was decided to extend the benefit of the meritorious scholarship for the wards of gazetted officers also.
