LBA sacks chief, Kunzang takes over

JAMMU, July 2: The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) today expelled its president Tsewang Thinless from membership of the General Council after police registered an FIR against him in molestation case.
The Central Working Committee of the LBA decided that PT Kunzang, vice president will function as president of LBA till the tenure of present General Council is completed.
The Association demanded free and fair trial of the case through fast track court.
Later, addressing a press conference at Press Club, newly elected LBA president PT Kunzang, joined by other members of the Association, said that the unfortunate incident is shameful act of an individual and has nothing to do with the Buddhist organization LBA.
All LBA members demanded fair and free trial of the case.
LBA vice president Rinchen Namgyal, Women wing president Rinchen Angmo, Youth president Konchok Ishey and other executive members were also present during the press conference.
Civil Society Alliance Leh has also condemned the gruesome act of Tsewang Thinles and said it stands with the victim’s family. It demanded speedy trial in the case.
