JAMMU, Mar 1: The Legislative Assembly session, which was scheduled to conclude on April 2, was set to prolong with Assembly Secretariat on the recommendations of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) declaring all Saturdays in the session as off-days.
There were five Saturdays in March.
Further, Speaker Mubarak Gul has admitted different adjournment motions, which would be debated on Monday. Earlier, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was scheduled to give his reply on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s Address on Monday while Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather had to present general budget on Wednesday.
Sources said the debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor Address and reply by the Chief Minister were likely to be re-scheduled by the BAC.
Going by the business and Saturdays as off-days, which had earlier been listed as working day, the Assembly session was likely to be extended by a week beyond April 2.
