2 killed as car plunges into canal after hit by bus

JAMMU, July 7: Two persons of a family were killed when a car in which they were travelling along with other family members plunged into Ranbir canal in Domana area after hit by a bus.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred today at about 11:30 AM near naka point on Jammu-Akhnoor Road in Domana area. He said four members of a family were travelling in their Maruti 800 car bearing registration number JK02H-8322 when a speeding bus hit their vehicle near naka of police station Domana.
He said after hit by bus, the car plunged into the canal after which the locals and police team on naka point rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation. After joint efforts of police and locals, all the four persons were fished out from the canal and were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where one of them namely Rampal Sharma son of Bodh Raj, resident of Doomi Sobka was declared as brought dead by the doctors and one another namely Sayan son of Rampal Sharma, died at Military Hospital, Jammu after he was shifted by the family there.
The bodies of deceased were sent for postmortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Domana and investigations started.
