JAMMU, July 9: Welcoming the steps and repeated announcements of the State Governor to curb corruption and send the corrupt behind bars, JKPCC has said ‘action speaks louder than words’ and hoped the big sharks will go behind bars.
In a press statement here PCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has said that party fully supports Governor’s initiatives against the corrupt and corruption but so far no big fish has been sent behind the bars, whereas, he has cancelled some major deals including crores of rupees.
“ The Governor must direct the concerned agencies to first lay hands on big fish before dropping hints in public about such possible elements, so that they don’t find ways and means to escape the clutches of law,” PCC leader said.
“ The Congress party has questioned continued placements of some tainted and influential bureaucrats at prime positions in the present dispensation also, which does not go well with the declared policy of the Governor. Party demanded evolving and fully strengthening of all anti-graft bodies and institutions besides strengthening mechanism for keeping close watch at all levels where the general public faces daily experience of bribes and rather coerced to pay for their due works in various Government offices,” Sharma maintained.
