RAMBAN, July 12: A minor girl attempted self-immolation at her residence in Failti Maitra area of this district.
A police spokesman said that 17-year-old Sauiya Bano, daughter of Mohammad Sharied Katoch, a resident of Failti Maitra set herself on fire after pouring kerosene oil on her body late last night. She had some tiff with the family members.
She was shifted to District Hospital Ramban, from where she was referred to Srinagar Hospital for advanced treatment.
Ramban Police has taken cognizance in this regard and stated investigation to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
