JAMMU, July 14: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) president, Subash Shastri has said that since the process of regularization of daily rated workers is time consuming exercise and their payment of monthly dues is subject to availability of funds, adequate funds should be provided to be utilized under separate wage heads so that daily rated workers do not suffer.
Addressing a NMC workers meeting at R.S Pura, Shastri talked about the alleged distress caused by non-provision of any medical allowance granted in favour of State pensioners on the pattern of central govt pensioners.
He expressed concern over the delay in accepting and implementing the recommendation of Ashok Lavasa Committee set up of by the Central Govt to review the structure of pay anomalies pertaining to lower staff.
Shastri appealed to the Prime Minister to intervene into the matter to settle the issue on priority base so that benefit of recommendations of the committee may reach to the aggrieved employees.
