JAMMU, July 15: Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament from Jammu -Poonch Lok Sabha Constituency demanded tourism projects for Rajouri district.
The MP raised the issue in Lok Sabha today.He said that district Rajouri has beautiful lakes from the ancient times and people of surrounding areas visit these lakes since Mahabharata times. These lakes are also related with the religious importance but got neglected in development Sector. Member of Parliament urged that the project concerned had been forwarded by the State Government under the name of Shakarmarg-7 Lakes Project & Development of Ganga Ghat at Sunderbani in district Rajouri.
He said that these places should be development by way of tourism so that the people from across the nation can visit these places. Jugal said that development of these projects will lead to increase in visitors in district Rajouri and also give employment to the people of district.
Prahlad Singh Patel, Union Minister of State for Tourism assured him that he will take keep this in consideration. He also said that these projects should be recommended by the Ministry of State Government to the Central Government so that they can be taken up for approval and work can be executed soon.
