BHADERWAH, July 16: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed today when his car skidded off the road and fell into a 350-feet gorge near Doda.
“The accident took place this morning when ASI Niaz Ahmad (55), a resident of Beoli village, was on his way to Doda town from his residence in his Alto K10 car bearing registration number JK06A-4758,” police sources said. He was posted at police post Dessa.

“The officer lost control over the vehicle just few metres ahead of Doda near HP gas agency store and the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 350 feet deep gorge near Doda town, leaving him critically injured,” they said, adding, the locals and police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted him to District Hospital Doda, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body was handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities while a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station, sources further added.
