KATRA, July 17: In continuation to the drive against drugs in Katra town, Police today seized 5.5 kg poppy straw and 3 gm Heroin from two narcotic smugglers.
During checking and frisking at Nomain Check Post, one truck bearing registration number JK02AN- 6557, coming from Domail towards Katra was intercepted and 5.5 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of its driver Gurbachan Singh son of Baldev Singh of Bhabber Brahmana, Derra Baba, Reasi.
In this regard case FIR number 173/2019, under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Katra
In another success, Katra Police apprehended one Madan Lal of village Kadmal – Katra, who was smuggling 3 gm Heroin while plying his Auto bearing registration number JK14-D- 9049 from Jij Chowk Katra.
A case FIR number 174/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
