Technology innovation programmes held

SRINAGAR, Mar 3: University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC), University of Kashmir organized two workshops on “Technology Innovation and Technopreneurship Promotion” at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (BGSB) University and Govt College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu.
In the one day workshop at BGSBU, Prof Hamal, Vice-Chancellor BGSB University, impressed upon the engineers and researchers to conduct result oriented research useful to the society.
Prof G Mohiuddin Bhat, Director USIC and Coordinator TUC, KU discussed the issue at length. The other speakers included Prof Mohammad Asgar, Principal College of Engineering and Technology (COET), BGSBU, Dr Shakeel Ahmad Dar, HoD, Electronics BGSBU, Parvaiz Hassan and others.
The workshop at GCET, Jammu, was hosted by Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), GCET, Jammu. On the occasion, Prof Bhopinder Singh, Principal GCET, Jammu, said that present age is age of collaboration and it is necessary for young innovators to get associated with some organization to get proper direction for their inventions.
Dr Suparn Sharma from SMVDU, Katra, said that such workshops are meant to ignite the thought process among the young innovators. Prof S K Sharma, Principal, MIET, Jammu, gave a detailed presentation of career opportunities for engineers in Govt as well as in private sector.
Prof G Mohiuddin highlighted the need for developing scientific solutions to the problems faced by the society.
