DB seeks ATR on nursing homes

JAMMU, July 20: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Citizen Forum Jammu through RK Chadha seeking regulation of charges by the nursing homes and other private health centres in accordance with the guidelines of Union Ministry of Health and Medical Council of India, Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Sindhu Sharma today directed the State to file Action Taken Report.
After hearing Advocate Anil Sethi for the PIL whereas Senior AAG HA Siddqui for the State and Advocate Deepika Mahajan for the respondents, the DB observed, “by Order No.286-HME of 2010 dated 29.04.2010, the State Government had constituted the committee of officers to examine the rates being charged by private clinical establishments/nursing homes/hospitals/diagnostic centers from the patients for treatment, diagnostic and other facilities in the State and recommend the reasonable rate lists depending upon the quality of facilities provided to them. However, no Action Taken Report has been filed so far”.
Accordingly, DB granted three weeks time for filing Action Taken Report.
